Both Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael's election manifestos show a dangerous shift towards militarisation and NATO membership.

We need to flood their phones with messages now, telling them that this is unacceptable and that Irish people are extremely proud of our neutrality and history of peacemakers, not warmongers.

Hello. My name is [your name] from [your town/area]. I’m calling to raise my concerns about your party's moves to change Ireland's neutrality and get rid of the Triple Lock which was laid out in the new Programme for Government.

I'm extremely worried about the moves towards militarisation and in particular by Micheál Martin and Simon Harris' towards getting rid of Irish neutrality. We want no part to play in America or Europe's wars. Now is when we need strong neutral voices pushing for peace, not calling for more war.

The Irish people have shown in the Nice Treaty and the Lisbon Treaty that we cherish our neutrality and reject attempts to militarise the EU. And polling conducted by Ireland Thinks this month shows that 75% of people in Ireland want to maintain our current policy on neutrality. This polling showed majority support for our current neutrality across all ages, regions and political parties, including yours.

I want your party to commit to keeping the Triple Lock and Ireland's neutral status exactly as it is in the Programme for Government.

There are enough voices paid off by the arms industry calling for war and death for profit. All wars must end through diplomacy and this is where Ireland has always punched above our weight.
I want to see Ireland acting as a neutral peacebroker to bring an end to conflicts around the world
- not sending troops and weapons abroad to fight and die for someone else's profits.

Thank you. Please bring my concerns to the attention of your party's leadership.
