Following the National Animal Rights Association's release of two exposés on the Irish pig industry, TDs Paul Murphy and Ruth Coppinger introduced the 'Animal Health & Welfare (Welfare of Pigs) Bill 2025' to First Stage in the Dáil on 1st July of this year. The bill is now in the lottery system, meaning it could get picked at any time for Second Stage - where TDs vote on whether the bill passes or not.
How TDs and parties vote depends on the pressure they receive from local constituents, and this is where we need your help! Please contact your local TDs and ask them to vote in support of this historic bill for animal rights.
