The events sector has been closed for 365 days.
Our Businesses have been unable to trade, and have been locked out of vital supports such as the
CRSS, which would enable them to make it through this pandemic. We are losing vital elements of our industry now, and face complete decimation unless the government act urgently to bring these supports to the fore, in a manner, and with a value, which reflects the value this sector brings to our economy.

As a constituent of yours, I am asking you to raise the following points with your colleagues in government, and stress the urgency and importance of dealing with them.
1) Continued PUP and EWSS until 6 months after mass gatherings are permitted again
2) Meaningful and ongoing fixed costs supports for SMEs in the sector
3) Tax warehousing without penalty for at least 12 months after mass gatherings are permitted again

We welcome the €50m funding that was announced, but it fails once more to address the needs of
our SMEs - small one off grants and moderate funding for streamed and limited events will not
support an industry with no road map. These issues must be addressed, and I trust you will bring this message forward with the haste it requires.
