Ireland is going through a record-breaking heatwave and our water grid is under pressure. A number of counties have been placed under a hosepipe ban with members of the public being encouraged to report their neighbours to the Irish Water hotline.

Meanwhile, enormous data centres are guzzling millions of litres of drinking water every single day as well as using more eletricity than every home in Ireland.

Instead of reporting our neighbours, we need to report these massive data centres to Minister Darragh O'Brien and demand that there is a halt on the huge level of new data centres being built in Ireland. Enter your number in the box and we will call you back to connect you for free.

You might get their assistant or answering machine and you won’t have to debate anybody. Leave your name, number and ask to be called back with a response.

Say what you feel. There's an example script below to help you but make it as personal to you as you can.

Example script:

Hi there, my name is [YOUR_NAME] and I'm calling to ask the Minister Darragh O'Briend to stop the expansion of new data centres in Ireland. In the last few years we've seen over 100 datacentres come online in Ireland, taking enormous amounts of energy and driving up all of our enegy bills. In addition, these data centres are now using millions of litres of our drinking water every single day. And there are plans to build 50 more in the next few years. This has to stop. Enough is enough. We cannot allow these billion dollar corporations to take our energy and drinking water while ordinary people in Ireland are made to pay the price.

There must be a pause on all new datacentre projects. No more grid connections for electricity or water.

In Singapore, they brought in a moratorium on data centres when they started using 7% of their electricity. In Ireland we're already at 25% and expected to rise to 35% as more and more huge datacentre projects are built.
