Minister Charlie Flanagan,
It's time the inhumane and cruel system of Direct Provision ended. People seeking asylum deserve to live with dignity, to have control over their own lives and the right to care for themselves and their children in a safe environment.
Why is this important?
Last night, a woman was denied food for her child who has been throwing up all night by staff at a Direct Provision centre. This is just one example of the ways that people seeking asylum are denied their rights in Direct Provision centres across the country every day. It's time Charlie Flanagan set about ending Direct Provision and creating a system where people seeking asylum can live freely, with dignity, rights and support.
