Will you chip in?
Can you chip in to put this open letter in the Limerick Leader, the local paper of Stripe founders John and Patrick Collison?
Dear John & Patrick Collison, founders of Stripe, Firstly, thanks for being true to your values by recently banning ultra right and racist French organisation Génération Identitaire from using Stripe as their way to collect donations. It’s no surprise you did! Stripe is a company that does what it promises - take a stand against hate. It’s inspiring to see companies like yours being true to their values. We need you to step up again. In Sweden there are two groups that are as bad as Génération Identitaire and they use Stripe. As you can imagine, this is very worrying. Nordisk Alternativhöger is an ultra right wing and racist movement that openly sells stickers propagating the hanging of people who are anti-racist. Their Nazi-language and merchandise is propagated online in blog posts, videos and podcasts. The second group is Alternativ för Sverige (AfS). They are a political party for people who are so radical - they’ve been thrown out of the radical nationalist Sweden Democrats. Remember when you took a stand against Trump’s Muslim ban - if AfS came into power they would go even further. They have already collected over 2 million SEK through Stripe recently. Stripe helps both these groups flourish by providing a platform for donations and purchases. You have the power to stop the propagation of hate and violence in Sweden. We ask you to stand up again - this time against Nordiska Alternativhögern and AfS in Sweden. Please close down their accounts - and stop allowing these groups to grow and spread their hateful and deadly values. Thank you. Signed on behalf of people who stand for a hate free Europe.
